WRRN Nepal was honored to participate in the WiGSA Strategic Meeting, held in Nairobi, Kenya, from July 20–22, 2026. The gathering brought together women-led organizations and leaders working to advance justice, rights, and inclusive development across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

The meeting provided a valuable platform for WRRN to share experiences and perspectives from local communities and Indigenous Peoples whose livelihoods and well-being are closely connected to their rights to forests and natural resources. It was equally an opportunity to learn from the experiences, achievements, and challenges of women’s organizations from different regions.

As an important platform connecting Indigenous, Afro-descendant, and local community women’s organizations, WiGSA enables collective reflection and action. Discussions focused on strengthening women’s collective voice, expanding networks, deepening collaboration, and advancing a shared advocacy strategy. Conversations around connection, learning, knowledge sharing, affiliation, and membership were particularly meaningful.

The meeting reaffirmed an important principle: women-led organizations must be recognized as equal rights holders and provided with direct and equitable access to resources and funding to effectively lead change in their communities.

WRRN Nepal returns from this important gathering inspired, strengthened, and more committed than ever to advancing women’s leadership, securing community and Indigenous Peoples’ rights, promoting inclusive governance, and contributing to a more just and equitable future.

🤝 Together, we strengthen voices. Together, we advance rights. Together, we create lasting change.
